I have a few thousand notes as markdown files that I would like to migrate to Google Keep. How is this possible?

Hi there,

Unfortunately, it's not possible at this time to import notes into Keep. You would need to manually transfer them.

To help influence future features in Keep, I encourage you to submit your feedback about this directly to Google. The best way to send feedback directly to the Google Keep team is to click on the gear icon in the web app (keep.google.com) or the Android app, select "Feedback" from the drop-down menu, and send in your ideas. Google doesn't check the help forums for user feedback, so it's important that you use the in-product tool.

Although the product team is unable to respond to individual users directly, they review this feedback regularly and use it to help improve the product over time. The more people who have this suggestion, the more likely the team will make a change.

Hey Jo,

thanks for your reply. Send a feedback via the Keep app. Hopefully they'll implement important functionality in near future.

Actually, you can transfer text to keep. See Help article :)

Hi, This is the way_06,

Thanks for trying to help out. That link is for how to use Keep notes in a Docs document or Slides presentation. It is not for importing notes from other apps or sources (which is what the OP's question and this thread is about). As I mentioned above, that capability currently isn't supported.

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to say that "This is the way_06" suggestion to that article did infact help me migrate my Samsung Notes to Google Keep. Now I know this isn't going to be the same for every type of Notes Application but I just wanted to say it worked in my scenario. The section in the article related to
"Save text or image as a note" is the method that I used. I simply exported my notes from Samsung Notes as PDF's to my Google Drive, and then opened each of them to GoogleDocs where it opens as a txt Allowing you to save from Google Docs to Google Keep.

While some manual work is needed, It's still possible and takes less time that entering all of your notes manually.

James McCready: you write that you save from Google Docs to Google Keep. I don't find any solution that do that in Google Docs. And Keep reply that it only support import of media and images so far. So do you mean cut and paste from Google Docs?
