I am working for a University, and the Department Head that I work for has asked me to try to collect the employer and position of former program alumni. My coworker started the project yesterday, and has been using LinkedIn to collect that information. The problem is that there are 6,265 program alumni in the excel document we were given. As such, there is no way that we can search for the data in an efficient way. However, we can email each participant and request the data. The easiest way to do that is by utilizing Google Forms, as I can customize the form, and then view a spreadsheet containing all of the collected data. While I know that a large number of the alumni may not reply, this is the most efficient means of collecting the data.

However, I am worried that Google Forms will not allow me to send a request to 6,265 recipients at one time. I am also concerned that Google Forms will not save the response data for 6,265 respondents, even if I am able to send the requests.

The questions that I have are as follows:
Is there a limit on the number of recipients for a single Google Form? If so, what is the limit?
Is there a limit on the number of recipients that a single Google Form can be sent to each day? If so, what is the limit?
Is there a limit on the number of responses that can be kept by a single Google Form? If so, what is the limit?
Generally, is there any way that I can collect the data that I need to collect using Google Forms?

Forms do not have a limit as such, the data is held in a Google Sheet with 5 million line capacity.

Your idea to give each person a form is the most efficient way to reach them. You can send the invitations from the master Excel sheet you mention via any mail merge you are familiar with. Any email limits would be a local issue with your own mail servers.

Alternatively you can send directly from a Google Sheet. This link outlines how

Hello Smoot,

Emailing a form will count against your daily email limit. For personal accounts, the limit is 500. For a GSuite account the limit is 2000 per day. This article discusses those limits and workarounds.

There are no published limits for the number of form responses. However, I have seen posts here where users had many thousands of responses. It should not be an issue.

This seems buggy. I'm getting notifications that I've "temporarily exceeded my daily sending limit" after sending a form to 10 people -- but if I wait a few minutes, it sometimes will send again, for a group larger than 10? There seems to be no logic to it.

Melon Wedick,

Did you get this issue resolved?  I am having the same issue, receiving that message after sending out to about 100 people.
