Is there a way to customize the length of an individual slide during a slideshow? I know that if I publish to the web I can make every slide the same time.. but the slides that are pictures I only want to last 5 seconds, and then the slides that are videos I want to be able to last until the video is over. Thank you

I'm having a similar problem, but I want to completely TURN OFF the auto-advance option. I don't want the slides to change on their own AT ALL because I've embedded links to other slides within the presentation. I want the presentation to act like a website when published to the web, which it does in every way EXCEPT that it has the auto-advance slides when publishing to the web. I've already sent feedback, but is there an easy way to turn it off?

I am having a similar problem. We have embedded links that viewers will explore at their own pace. We want a functionality that works more like one might work through a booklet. Being able to publish AND disable auto slide advance would be a great improvement to the functionality of Slides.

Yes, I can't understand why there isn't an option to turn the automatic presentation of slides OFF ?
I am using Google Slides to run assessments at school and each slide needs to do only what the teacher wants it to do. Come on guys, please add this feature to the presentation options!

I am in the same boat. My slideshow won't stop advancing. Sometimes I quickly go into notes and pause it. But then if I advance the slide it starts advancing again. Why can't this problem be solved?

Hoping for a "YES":
Is there a way to make slides advance at a certain time and video clips play in full and then advance?

Yes, I would like to be able to advance each slide according to how long the video is. Also, I want the video to automatically play when it comes up. I use this to make continuous announcements to the students.

Would also like to be able to turn off auto advance and am saddened to see that it was requested last year but teachers are still not being listened too....
As we are now forced into using this feature more during lockdown it would be fantastic if Google actually listened to it's customers!
