Paste between sheets not working (paste special, values only)

I cannot copy a range of cells and paste into another sheet.

I have an order calculator where I collect info on customer's orders.
Next to the calculator is a range of cells that compiles the information.
E.g. date, name, shipping address, etc.

I usually copy this info and paste into my record of sales sheet. (as paste special, with values only)

None of my sheets allow me to copy cells that have formulas and paste into another sheet.
I used to do this every day but it's no longer working for some reason.

When I go to paste into the final sheet (on mac, cmd + shift + v) it either does nothing or will only paste something I have copied from that specific sheet, but not another.

Any ideas on why this has changed?
It has really disrupted my whole process.

Thank you,

Hi Nick,

Try the Paste and match style command in the web browser's Edit menu. On a Mac, the keyboard shortcut is:

⌥ ⇧ ⌘ V

To let Google know that you are affected by the issue, open a spreadsheet and choose Help > Report a Problem or Help > Help Sheets Improve.

Paste and Match Style is not an option in my edit menu

Hi Nick,

That is what the menu item is called in Safari, Chrome and Opera. Note that you should look in the web browser's Edit menu rather than the Google Sheets Edit menu. Perhaps you are using some other browser? Look for a Paste Special, Paste Values, Paste Plaintext or similar menu item right after the normal Paste in the web browser's Edit menu.

⌥ ⇧ ⌘ V
Is that option key, up arrow, command, v   all at the same time?

⇧ is the Shift key, not the arrow up key.

Press and hold ⌥ ⇧ ⌘, then press and release V, then release ⌥ ⇧ ⌘.

⌥ is the Option key, ⇧ is the Shift key, and ⌘ is the Command key.

I can't seem to get this keyboard shortcut to work and Paste and Match Style is not an option in my edit menu.

Is that option key, up arrow, command, v   all at the same time?

So annoying this "paste values" stopped working presseing Cmd-Sh-V too now and you have to go to browser (Chrome on Mac) to select the shortcuts you need (which is then no longer shortcuts)... This is actually the same shortcut defined in Google Sheet and browser but pressing the keys do not work when doing from another sheet - only within a sheet now.

But it seems to be a general shortcut problem. I used to do do Cmd-R for refresh page and Cmd-D for adding bookmark within Google Sheets in Chrome which would get the browser shortcuts, but now they all go to Google Sheets shortcuts and that is sort of dangerous as these are some weird "fill down" and "fill right".. so many people do this expecting the browser shortcuts you use all over but ends up changing/delete cell content without noticing as it is so built in to refresh/bookmarks pages with those shortcuts - so you think you are doing that but end up deleting a cell if they dont notice why a page do not refresh/bookmark...

So I wonder if this is a google sheet/chrome change or MacOS (security) change that have caused this behaviour change and if possible to change back to how it used to work...? You do not seem to be able to change/remove the google sheet shortcuts...

Since my question is marked as duplicate, I will copy my question here again.

This is no menu bar in Chrome on Windows.

How would I solve it there? @Hyde

Did you even read the quora answer you linked.

The third answer directly says, clearly, "On Windows, there isn’t the menu bar".
All the other answers are just irrelevant things.

Or just try it yourself if you by chance to have a Windows machine. There is no menu bar in Windows Chrome whatsoever.

If you don't know the answer that's totally fine.
Just leave it open and I will patiently wait others or the devs to answer/solve the issue.

There is no need to force yourself to answer these if you don't even use Windows. thanks.

Yes. The answer is that there is no menu bar in Chrome in Windows. For help with Google Chrome, please visit Google Chrome Help.

This is a user-to-user forum. As mentioned above, you can let Google know that you are affected by the issue by opening a spreadsheet and choosing Help > Report a Problem or Help > Help Sheets Improve.
