GOOGLE SLIDES TOOLBAR DISAPPEARED

I'm using Google Slides & had already created a marketing flyer & managed to resize the slide using FILE > PAGE SETUP.

Since opening a new document I can't see FILE. I have no toolbar.

I've tried pressing escape (so I'm not in full screen) & have tried CTRL>SHFT>F. Nothing seems to work & it's just disappeared.

Please can someone help me ASAP? Thanks.

exiting out of full screen didn't work for me but strangely I found it another way. I clicked on the text box and out of nowhere the toolbar reappeared but when I delete the text box it disappears again. SMH, LOL!

This is all I can see.  I am using a chromebook but it's the same issue on my phone (android)  I'm on chrome (not sure how I find out which version I use.  This was working fine until Friday and then it suddenly changed.  I can't create new documents or rename anything.  It is a business I am trying to run here.
Thanks

This is great for a lap top but I need my students that only have iPads to be able to use the tool bar to format the size of different objects. Is there a work around?
