If you create a custom dashboard, you can add a slicer to filter your tables, charts, or pivot tables.
To get an example spreadsheet and follow along with the video, click “Make a Copy” below.
Add a slicer
- On your computer, open a spreadsheet at sheets.google.com.
- Click the chart or pivot table you want to filter.
- At the top, click Data
Add a slicer.
- At the right, choose a column to filter by.
- Click the slicer and choose your filter rules:
- Filter by condition: Choose from a list of conditions or create your own.
- Filter by values: Uncheck any data points that you want to hide.
Delete a Slicer
- Click the Slicer.
- Press Delete or Backspace.
- Click Menu
Delete slicer.
Notes:
- You can use one slicer per column. To filter by more than one column, add multiple slicers.
- Slicers apply to all charts and pivot tables in a sheet that use the same data set.
- Slicers don’t apply to formulas in a sheet that use the same data set.
- If you add multiple slicers that use the same source data, make sure the range of each slicer is the same as the others.
- A slicer’s filter selections remain private and unsaved unless you set them as default.
