Print from Google Sheets

You can customize how you print a spreadsheet with margins, page breaks, headers, footers, and more options.

Print a spreadsheet, single sheets, or cells

  1. On your computer, open a spreadsheet at sheets.google.com.
  2. If you want to print part of a spreadsheet, select the cells or sheet.
  3. At the top, click File and then Print.
  4. Click Current sheet.
    • To print the full spreadsheet, click Workbook.
    • To print the cells you chose in step two, click Selected cells.
    • To print the sheet you chose in step two, click Current sheet.
  5. Click Next.
    • If you’re using Chrome, click Print in the window that appears.
    • If you’re using Firefox or Safari, a PDF file will automatically download. In your PDF viewer, go to File and then Print.

Insert page breaks

  1. On your computer, open a spreadsheet at sheets.google.com.
  2. At the top, click File and then Print.
  3. Click Set custom page breaks.
  4. Drag the lines to where the page should break. Each rectangle will print on its own page.
    • To remove a page break, point to a line and click Remove Remove.
  5. When you’re done, click Confirm breaks.

Format margins, headers, footers, or page settings

Change margins

  1. On your computer, open a spreadsheet at sheets.google.com.
  2. At the top, click File and then Print.
  3. Under "Margins," click Normal. Choose a margin type.
  4. To customize your margins, click Custom numbers. Enter new margin numbers.

Customize headers or footers

  1. On your computer, open a spreadsheet at sheets.google.com.
  2. At the top, click File and then Print.
  3. Click Headers & footers.
  4. Choose what info you want to include.
  5. To change the format or location of the header or footer, click Edit custom fields. Make your changes and click Confirm​.

Repeat rows or columns across pages

You can repeat frozen rows or columns across a printed spreadsheet’s pages.

  1. On your computer, open a spreadsheet at sheets.google.com.
  2. If you haven’t already, freeze a row or column.
  3. At the top, click File and then Print.
  4. Click Headers & footers.
  5. Choose Repeat frozen rows or Repeat frozen columns.

Change page orientation or paper size

  1. On your computer, open a spreadsheet at sheets.google.com.
  2. At the top, click File and then Print.
  3. Under “Orientation,” choose Landscape or Portrait.
  4. Under “Paper size,” choose the size of paper you want to print on. To add a custom paper size, choose Custom size and enter a height and width.
