Work with links & bookmarks

You can insert, update, or delete links in the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides app.

Add a link

  1. Open a file in the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides app.
  2. Docs: Tap Edit Edit.
  3. Highlight text or tap the area in the file where you want the link to appear.
  4. In the top right, tap Create Insert.
  5. Tap Link.
  6. In the "Text" field, type the text you want to be linked.
  7. In the "Link" field, enter a URL or email address, or search for a website.
  8. To save, tap Done Done.

Change or remove a link

  1. Open a file in the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides app.
  2. Docs: Tap Edit Edit.
  3. Tap the text, cell, or shape with the link you want to remove.
  4. To remove the link, tap Remove link. To change the link, tap Edit Link or More More and then Edit link.

Add a bookmark

Bookmarks are not available on Android; you’ll have to use a computer.
