See and use suggested content in a document

Find and add suggested content to documents in Google Docs. The suggested content is related to what’s in your document. You can also search your docs and the web from within a document.

See suggested content

  1. Open a document in the Google Docs app.
  2. Tap Edit Edit.
  3. Tap More More.
  4. Tap Explore.
  5. You might see information you can use to help finish your work and images you can add.
    • Topics: To see search results for topics related to your document, tap the title.
    • Images: To preview an image, tap it. To use, tap Insert. This will also add a footnote to the bottom of the document.
    • Related research: You'll see research relating to what's in your document.
  6. To close, tap Close Close.

If you don't see suggestions, add more content to your document.

Search the web from inside a document

  1. Open a document in the Google Docs app.
  2. Tap Edit Edit.
  3. Tap More More.
  4. Tap Explore.
  5. Type a search in the search bar to search your docs and the web.
