Insert and arrange text, shapes, diagrams, and lines

To enhance your presentation, you can add text, shapes, lines, and other objects in Google Slides.

Add and remove text or objects

Add text boxes or objects
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a presentation in the Google Slides app.
  2. On the slide you want to add to, tap Add Add.
  3. Choose what you want to add, then tap Text, Image, Shape, or Line.
Remove text boxes or objects
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a presentation in the Google Slides app.
  2. Tap an object.
  3. Tap Delete.

If you don’t see "Delete," you may have to tap the right arrow.

Arrange objects on a slide

Move an object
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a presentation in the Google Slides app.
  2. Tap the object you want to move.
  3. Drag the object to a new location.
Resize an object
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a presentation in the Google Slides app.
  2. Tap the object you want to resize.
  3. Touch and drag the blue squares around the object.
Rotate an object
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a presentation in the Google Slides app.
  2. Tap the object you want to rotate.
  3. Touch and drag the blue circle at the top of the object.
Change the order of objects
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a presentation in the Google Slides app.
  2. Tap the object you want to change the order of.
  3. Tap what you want the object to do:
    • Move to front: Places the object in front of all other objects, so nothing overlaps it.
    • Send to back: Places the object behind other objects, which may overlap it.

If you do not see "Move to front" or "Send to back," you may have to tap the right arrow.

Select multiple objects
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a presentation in the Google Slides app.
  2. Touch and hold an object until the top bar turns blue.
  3. To select other objects, tap them.

To move more than one selected object, touch and drag.

Group objects together

If you want use multiple objects like a single object, you can group them together.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a presentation in the Google Slides app.
  2. Touch and hold an object until the top bar turns blue.
  3. Select the other objects you want to group together.
  4. Tap Group Group. To separate the objects, tap Group Groupagain.
