You can create visual effects when you add animations to text, images, slides, and other objects in Google Slides. You can also animate lists one click at a time as you present.
Add & edit animations
- On your computer, open a presentation in Google Slides.
- Click the text or image you want to animate.
- Click Insert
Animation.
- Or, you can click View
Motion.
- Or, you can click View
- Under “Object Animations,” select the animation you want to use.
- When you add new object animations, on the right panel, they automatically set to “Appear (On click).”
- To change the animation start time, select an option from the second drop down menu.
- To change the animation speed, drag the slider.
- To animate lists one line at a time, check the box next to “By paragraph.”
Tips:
- To preview the animation, click Play.
- When presentations are viewed in some browsers, certain animations may not function.
Add & edit slide transitions
- On your computer, open a presentation in Google Slides.
- On the left, click the slide you want to transition to.
- Click Slide
Transition.
- Under “Slide Transition,” in the drop down menu, select the transition you want to use.
- To change the transition speed, drag the slider.
- To insert object animations:
- Click Add animation.
- Under “Object Animations,” select the animation you want to use.
- To animate lists one line at a time, check the box next to “By paragraph.”
- To change the animation speed, drag the slider.
- To change the animation start time, select:
- On click: The animation starts when you click the mouse or press the space bar.
- After previous: The animation starts immediately after the previous animation ends.
- With previous: The animation starts at the same time the previous animation starts.
Tip: To preview the transition or animation, click Play.
