Collecting respondents' email addresses

If you use Google Apps for Work or Education, you can record the email addresses of the people who fill out your form. Recipients of your survey will see a message at the top of the form explaining that their username will be collected automatically.

Collect addresses in the new Google Forms (no "File" menu at top)

  1. Open the form.
  2. In the top right, click the Settings icon .
  3. Check the box next to Automatically collect respondents' [yourdomain.com] username.

  1. Open the form.
  2. At the top of the form, check the box next to Automatically collect respondents' [yourdomain.com] username.

Require sign-in to view a form

As a Google Apps user, your form settings will require login to your domain by default to add a layer of security to sensitive files. But, you can allow respondents from outside your domain to view your form.

Allow form viewing outside domain in the New Forms (No "File" menu at top)

  1. Open the form.
  2. At the top, click the Settings icon .
  3. From the dropdown menu, switch from the Anyone in [yourdomain.com] to Anyone.

Allow form viewing outside domain in the Old Forms ("File" menu visible at top)

  1. Open the form.
  2. At the top of the form, uncheck the box next to Require [yourdomain.com] login to view this form.
  3. Read the warning that appears and then click OK.
