Important: This article is referring to Google Workspace Labs, which is a trusted tester program for users to try new AI features. The Workspace Labs program may not be available in your country. To check if you have access to Workspace Labs features, open a form in Google Forms, then find Help me create a form .
On Google Forms, you can use the " Help me create a form" to create forms using artificial intelligence.
This feature is currently available on desktop.
Use Gemini to create a form
- On your computer, open a new form in Google Forms.
- At the top of the new form, you can access the “Help me create a form” prompt box.
- In the toolbar, click Help me create a form .
- Enter a prompt. For example:
- “Create a simple RSVP form for a neighborhood potluck, collecting name, allergy info, and what dish they'll bring.”
Tip: You might get better results if you include more details in your prompt.
- Click Create.
- (Optional) After you generate a form, you can:
- Edit your prompt: At the top of the generated draft, click the prompt. Edit your prompt and click Update.
- To create a new version of the form click Retry : You can regenerate the form if you want to get more options for a given prompt or use case.
- Important: After you create a new version, you can’t go back to the previous version.
- When you’re satisfied with the generated draft of the form, click Use this form.
Tips:
- We do not yet support using "Help me create a form" to update quiz settings or create forms with multiple sections.
- We do not yet support using "Help me create a form" to edit an existing form. It will replace the existing form with the generated form.
Write prompts to create new forms with Gemini
Include details in your prompt to create more complex forms, here are some examples:
- “Design a form to collect data on exercise habits and fitness goals of adults.”
- “Design a post-event survey to collect attendee feedback on a business networking event.”
- “Develop a 10-question quiz to assess basic knowledge of biology for high school students.”
- “Create an event planning form for a weekend yoga retreat. Include options for accommodation preferences (shared or private room), dietary restrictions, and interest in optional add-on activities. Make sure you have one question which asks which weekend in April 2025 works best for potential attendees.”
Give feedback on a generated form
Gemini for Google Workspace constantly learns and may not be able to support your request.
- Below the generated form, select Good suggestion or Bad suggestion .
- In the pop-up window, you can select if you want to share outputs along with your feedback. If you don’t want to share it, you can uncheck it.
- If you select Bad suggestion , select Next to select the issue you found and enter additional feedback.
- Click Submit.

Turn off the "Help me create a form" button
To turn off any of the features on Google Workspace Labs, you must exit Workspace Labs. If you exit:
- You’ll permanently lose access to all Workspace Labs features.
- You won’t be able to rejoin Workspace Labs. Learn more about how to exit Workspace Labs.

How Workspace Labs data in Forms is collected
When you use the “Help me create a form” prompt in Google Forms, Google uses and stores the following data:
- The prompts you enter
- The generated form
- Your feedback on the generated form
