Display & Video 360 is partnering with Netflix to provide creative pre-registration and exchange status directly in our platform. Tubi exchange inventory in Display & Video 360
Users now have access to Tubi’s exchange inventory in Display & Video 360. Exchange-level enablement at the partner level of Display & Video 360 will be required for advertisers to access this data.
Upgrade your YouTube & partners efficient reach line items for expanded reach and performance
New YouTube & partners efficient reach line items now support all available efficient reach ad formats (skippable, bumper, Shorts & in-feed) by default, expanding your potential reach. Starting in mid-March 2025, Display & Video 360 will no longer support the creation of new efficient reach line items using only in-stream skippable and bumper ads through Structured Data File upload or duplication in Display & Video 360. YouTube & partners efficient reach line items using only in-stream skippable and bumper ads will not be duplicated during insertion order or campaign-level duplication actions. Existing line items will continue to run.
Upgrade your efficient reach line items to take advantage of expanded reach and avoid potential disruptions, noting that you can still opt out of specific formats when constructing your line item.
Improved forecasting for YouTube guaranteed Instant Deals
Display & Video 360 will soon add a checkbox that allows advertisers to account for control group lift holdback when creating YouTube Instant Deals. This improvement will mitigate the risk of underdelivery for YouTube programmatic guaranteed Instant Deals where Brand or Search Lift is used to analyze performance, enabling advertisers to maximize campaign effectiveness and gain more reliable insights into ad impact.
Advertiser-level terms & conditions acceptance for YouTube guaranteed Instant Deals
Display & Video 360 will soon streamline the creation of YouTube guaranteed Instant Deals (formerly Instant Reserve deals) by shifting reservation Terms & Conditions acceptance to the advertiser level. This change will eliminate the requirement to accept Terms & Conditions for every deal, simplifying workflows and paving the way for potential broader availability of YouTube guaranteed Instant Deals to Display & Video 360 partners.
Campaign added reach due to frequency capping measurement methodology improvements
Campaign added reach measurement methodology is being updated to improve accuracy. This refinement involves a more precise application of auction data which will provide a clearer representation of campaign reach, leading to more accurate frequency cap calculations and optimized campaign performance.
Inventory source controls and reporting for Demand Gen line items
Starting Mar 17, 2025, Display & Video 360 will introduce granular inventory source controls for Demand Gen line items, allowing advertisers to define ad placement preferences for YouTube (including skippable in-stream, in-feed and Shorts ad formats), Gmail, Discover, and the Google Display Network at the ad group level. As part of this change, inventory source targeting will move from the line item level to the ad group level, where many other Demand Gen targeting settings are applied, and we will automatically apply your existing “video partners” line item level settings to all ad groups within those line items. Once this is complete, all Demand Gen line items will be required to use the ad group level controls for Google Display Network settings, and the line item level settings will be deprecated. These ad group level inventory source targeting settings will be available to manage via Structured Data Files in version 8.1, which will be released ahead of this launch.
Advertisers will be able to use the YouTube “Inventory Source” reporting dimension to segment performance by Inventory Source (e.g., YouTube, Discover Feed, Gmail, Google Display Network), and combine this with the YouTube “Ad format” reporting dimension to segment performance by ad format (skippable in-stream, in-feed, Shorts). As part of this change, the YouTube “Inventory Source” reporting dimension will no longer return the value “Mixed”, but instead will segment this as YouTube, Discover, or Gmail, along with Google Display Network inventory. Additionally, the “App & URLs” reporting dimension will begin reporting Gmail and Discover impressions with the value mail.google.com and google.com respectively, rather than “Low volume inventory”. The standard “Inventory Source” reporting dimension will continue to return the values “Google Owned Properties” (for YouTube, Discover & Gmail inventory) and “Google Display Network” after this launch, but in future will also be updated to segment out YouTube, Discover & Gmail inventory as separate values.
Support for Google Display Network image inventory in Demand Gen line items
Demand Gen line items currently facilitate engagement and action across YouTube (in-stream, in-feed, Shorts), Discover, Gmail, and video inventory within the Google Display Network (i.e. Google Video Partners). From late April 2025, Display & Video 360 will expand Demand Gen capabilities with access to image inventory on the Google Display Network, expanding reach and potential performance. This will provide advertisers with increased avenues to achieve lead generation and online sales, leveraging the Google Display Network's vast network of websites, apps, and video publishers. Once this is launched, Demand Gen line items that have image ads and which are opted into serving on the Google Display Network via Inventory Source targeting controls will automatically become eligible to serve image ads across the Google Display Network.
