Demand Gen is coming to Display & Video 360

Starting in October 2024, you’ll be able to seamlessly manage Demand Gen campaigns alongside other line items directly within Display & Video 360.

Demand Gen offers a range of features to help you achieve even greater success with your campaigns:

  • Expanded reach: Engage with up to 3 billion monthly users1 by expanding your reach from YouTube to Discover and Gmail.
  • Multi-format creative storytelling: Run video and image ads in one single line item.
  • More relevant, specific audiences: With lookalike segments, you can reach more audiences who are similar to those who already love your brand.

Advertisers who uploaded both video and image assets to Google Ads Demand Gen campaigns saw 20% more conversions at the same cost per action than those who uploaded video assets only2.

Transitioning from Video Action Campaigns to Demand Gen

To bring you these powerful benefits, we're transitioning from YouTube & partners video action line items* to Demand Gen line items in early 2025.

* YouTube & partners video action line items are also known as YouTube video action line items and Video Action Campaigns (VAC) and refer to YouTube & partners video line items with Drive Conversions as the objective.

We’re also bringing the top features that you love from Display & Video 360 YouTube video action line items to Demand Gen, including Floodlight optimization & reporting and third-party verification with YouTube brand safety partners.

Starting in March 2025, you will no longer be able to create new YouTube video action line items in Display & Video 360. We recommend familiarizing yourself with Demand Gen line items in preparation for this change.

We’ll share more details to keep you informed about the transition in advance of the changes.
