Set value CPM for a line item
The Value CPM is an amount you specify to help DFP Small Business rank your non-guaranteed inventory.
Starting April 16, 2013 if an amount is entered in the "Value CPM" field of a line item, then value CPM will be used in revenue calculations for impressions served on and after that date. If not, the amount entered in the "Rate" field will be used. Impressions served before April 16, 2013 will always use the "Rate" field to calculate revenue.
Advertiser A has purchased ad inventory at a $4 CPM. Advertiser B has purchased ad inventory at a $5 CPM.
To give priority to Advertiser A's lower CPM ads, you could select the 'Value CPM' box for Advertiser A's line item and enter a value of '6.' (You don't need to enter a currency.) DFP Small Business will then consider Advertiser A at a $6 CPM, even though Advertiser A is only paying a $4 CPM.
If you don't select the 'Value CPM' box, DFP Small Business will use the actual CPM to determine the priority for ad delivery.
Set value CPM
To set a value CPM for a non-guaranteed line item:
- In your DFP Small Business account, click the Delivery tab.
- Click the order containing the line item you'd like to edit.
- Click the line item you'd like to edit and then click the Settings tab.
- Click set value CPM next to the Cost field and enter a value CPM amount.
- Click Save.
