Integrate DoubleClick Rich Media creatives with third-party reporting and analytics

This article is specific to DoubleClick for Publishers and Studio V2 users.
This feature might not be enabled in your DFP environment. For more details, talk to your manager or a DoubleClick representative.

You can integrate DoubleClick Rich Media creatives with reporting and analytics outside of DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP) by implementing third-party tracking URLs. You can implement four kinds of tracking in DFP:

  • Third-party impressions
  • Third-party click-throughs
  • Survey URLs
  • Multiple survey URLs

Third-party impressions

To implement third-party impression pixels in a DFP Premium Rich Media creative:

  1. Open the creative in DFP.
  2. In the creative's "Settings" tab, paste the impression pixel (URL only; don't include the <script> code) into the "Third-party all impressions URL" field.
  3. Click Save.

Third-party click-throughs

To implement third-party redirects (clickthrough URLs) in a Rich Media creative:

  1. Open the creative in DFP.
  2. In the "Tracking events" tab, find the event for the clickthrough, or exit, you would like to update.
  3. In the Destination URL column, click the "Destination URL" field for the exit you want to update. This will make the cell editable.
  4. Paste the main redirect URL.
  5. Click Save.

Survey URLs

  1. Open the creative in DFP.
  2. In the creative's "Settings" tab, paste the survey URL (URL only; don't include the <script> code) into the "Survey URL field".
  3. Click Save.

The survey URL must be JavaScript-based. If the survey URL is a 1x1 image pixel, paste it into the "Third-party impressions" field so it can be called as an image pixel instead of JavaScript.

Multiple survey URLs

DFP provides one field for implementing survey URLs. If you need to call multiple survey URLs, use DoubleClick's Multiple survey URL creator to automatically create a multi-survey URL link for use in DCM and DFP.
