You can enroll a personal Android or iOS smartphone device in the Device Usage Study
- Android devices will use an Android app
- The app is called ResearchMeter, and can be downloaded from the Play Store
- For the VPN meter to work the OS version for Android must be 6+
- iOS devices will use a VPN web profile
- The VPN profile can be downloaded from the web
- For the VPN meter to work the iOS version must be 12+
Only personal smartphone devices are accepted in the Device Usage Study. Please don’t attempt to install ResearchMeter on an employer-provided device. Additionally, if your personal device is managed by your school or employer (for example, this may be the case if you use a work profile on your device), you may not be able to install the necessary permissions to enroll your device in the study.
