How impressions and clicks are counted for LinkedIn ads
Unlike regular impressions in Campaign Manager, LinkedIn ads use the viewable impression standard as their definition of an impression. Generally speaking, LinkedIn ads will have:
- Fewer impressions overall (due to viewable impression standard).
- More expensive impressions.
- 100% viewable impressions according to LinkedIn. However, these impressions won't be reported as viewable in Campaign Manager.
LinkedIn notifies Google of a chargeable click event. Each of these click events takes the user to a LinkedIn landing page where the user can further engage with the LinkedIn platform.
