WARNING: HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION

Basic Safety: To avoid damaging your device, accessories or any connected devices, and to reduce the risk of personal injury, discomfort, property damage or other potential hazards, follow these precautions below and those found at g.co/daydream/safetywarrantyreg-safety:

  • Handle your Daydream View with care. You may damage the device if you disassemble, drop, bend, burn, crush or puncture your device. Do not use a headset with damaged lenses or with a phone that has a cracked screen. Using a damaged controller may cause battery overheating or injury. Don’t expose your controller to liquids, which can cause a short circuit and overheating.  If either the headset or controller gets wet, do not attempt to dry it using an external heat source. Daydream View is designed to work best in ambient temperatures between 32° to 95° F (0° and 35° C), and should be stored between ambient temperatures of -4° and 113° F (-20° and 45° C). Do not expose Daydream View to temperatures above 113° F (45° C) as this may damage the product, overheat the battery, or pose a risk of fire.

  • Be sure the charging device and controller are well ventilated when in use or charging. Using damaged cables or charging when moisture is present, can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the Daydream View headset, controller, or other property..  When charging the controller, make sure the power adapter is plugged into a socket near the controller and is easily accessible. Avoid charging the device in direct sunlight. The Daydream View controller is intended to be charged with a USB type-C cable and charger certified Limited Power Source (LPS) per IEC 60950-1 rated: 5 Volts DC, maximum 3 Amp. Only charge your controller with compatible charging accessories available on the Google Store. Failure to use compatible charging accessories can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the device and the accessories. Compatible charging accessories are available on the Google Store and at Google authorized resellers (look for Google’s “made for” badge).

Distraction: Using your device when performing certain activities can distract you and may cause a dangerous situation for you or others. To reduce the risk of accidents (and because it’s prohibited by law in many places), do not use your device while driving, bicycling or while operating machinery, and do not use it while engaging in any activities that have potentially serious consequences. Follow local laws about using mobile devices, headphones and helmets.

Daydream Safety: To avoid damaging your device, accessories or any connected devices, and to reduce the risk of personal injury, discomfort, property damage or other potential hazards, follow these precautions below.

  • Always be aware of your surroundings when using Daydream View. Daydream View is meant to be used while seated or stationary. Take care to ensure that you are not near other people, pets, objects, or other items that you can bump into, trip over, or knock down when using — or immediately after using — Daydream View.

  • Daydream View should not be used by children under the age of 13.

  • Take the time to get adjusted to the virtual reality experience before using Daydream View extensively. Take frequent breaks while using Daydream View. If you experience discomfort, immediately discontinue using Daydream View. Each person reacts differently to virtual reality so you should base the frequency and length of breaks on what is right for you.

  • Store your Daydream View with the lenses pointed away from any source of light or direct sunlight.

  • A small percentage of individuals may experience epileptic seizures or blackouts when exposed to certain light patterns or flashing lights. These conditions may trigger previously undetected epileptic symptoms or seizures in persons who have no history of prior seizures or epilepsy. If you, or anyone in your family has an epileptic condition or has had seizures of any kind, consult your physician before using Daydream View.

  • The controller contains components that emit electromagnetic fields and could interfere with pacemakers or other electronic medical devices. If you have a pacemaker or other implanted medical device, ask your physician or medical device manufacturer if it’s OK to use Daydream View.

  • If you have known skin sensitivities, please take special care when wearing Daydream View. You may be more likely to experience irritation from the device if you wear it too tightly. Remove Daydream View periodically to allow your skin to breathe. Keeping the device clean and dry will reduce the possibility of skin irritation. Caution: Daydream View's headset contains natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions for people who are sensitive to latex.

  • To avoid the possibility of transferring a contagious condition, keep your device clean and avoid sharing your device. Follow the care and cleaning instructions provided at g.co/daydream/care.

  • See a doctor before using Daydream View if you have pre-existing conditions that may affect your virtual reality experience such as vision abnormalities, psychiatric disorders, heart conditions, or other serious medical conditions.

Battery: This device contains a lithium-ion battery which is a sensitive component that can cause injury if damaged. Do not attempt to remove the battery.
