Dear Data Studio fans,

This week, we're announcing several often requested features:

The ability to perform advanced date ranges comparisons in charts. For example, aligning the comparison period to the same day of the week, or compare this year to date to two years past.

Cartesian charts now support drill-down, giving your viewers a way to reveal additional levels of detail within a single chart. For example, you can set up a geographic hierarchy of Country > Region > City to let viewers drill down into those levels of your data.

You can now hide report pages in view mode. This lets you work on pages without showing them before they are ready, or include instructions or other details for report editors while hiding them from viewers.

You can learn more about these features in the April 25th release notes.

As always, thanks for your interest in Data Studio!

Nice features! Going to be using some for sure!

I'm experiencing a strange bug with date comparison in a report that was working fine for several months now. Scorecards present change in a reversed direction. they calculate the right percentage, but the other way around as I was comparing the dates backwards.

The bug exists only when I compare month to date to previous period, other  timeframes work fine - they compare the right way.

The report uses Google sheets as data source. Could this be related to your announcement about advanced date comparison?

There is an issue with the Advanced Date Comparison, when you choose "today" and then choose year as the time period, it always defaults to the beginning of that year rather and 1 year from the current date. So for example, choosing "5/21/19 Minus 1 year" actually gives you a start date of 1/1/18 instead of 5/21/18. This seems misleading for what you are choosing in the selection vs what you get.

(Naturally, you can just use days to accomplish this but wanted to point out the year issue)
