Sum Two Different Data Sources 0 Recommended Answers 6 Replies 13 Upvotes

I'm trying to show my FaceBook spend and Google Ads spend in one scorecard.

Facebook is fed from a sheet, Google is fed directly via the adds connector.

The problem is that it sees the cost as two different metrics. But I want it to add the two together.

This is the result. Instead of showing £4306, it is just showing the Google Ads cost.

How do I get it to add the two together?

Hey Harrry, Magnus Linklater & User 2582889410489604148

Created a Google Data Studio Report (Google Analytics & Google Ads Sample Data Sources) to demonstrate, as well as a GIF showing the process below.

It can be achieved by renaming the Metrics at the Blended Data Source (ensure that each Metric has a unique name) and then creating a formula to add the Fields, e.g.

SUM(Cost (Google Analytics)) + SUM(Cost (Google Ads))

Hope this helps

Hi,

I have the same problem, but GIF does not help if you have to sum up Google Ads, Facebook Ads and Bing Ads costs.

Hey Dāvis Bērziņš

1) Naming
- Ensure that each Cost metric has a different name (rename them at the Blended Data Source), e.g.
CostAds_Google
CostAds_Facebook
CostAds_Bing

2) SUM
Have a look at whether a SUM formula does the trick:
SUM(CostAds_Google) + SUM(CostAds_Facebook+ SUM(CostAds_Bing)

3) NARY_MAX
if the above (SUM) doesn't seem to work (perhaps there may be null values?), you could try the NARY_MAX function:
NARY_MAX(CostAds_Google, 0) + NARY_MAX(CostAds_Facebook, 0) + NARY_MAX(CostAds_Bing, 0)

If it still doesn't seem to work, could you post a screenshot of exactly what the issue is?

In addition, how is the Data blended? Is the Join Key Date? Could you post a screenshot of the Blended Data Source?

Hope this helps
