I would like for every search to show the "Top 40" results on one page? 0 Recommended Answers 10 Replies 6 Upvotes

I simply want each & every search to return the "Top 40" results, what is the easiest way to implement this in the google custom search? Can you please provide the exact code or step by step tutorial? Thank you.

Hi David,

You can configure your CSE engine to display at the maximum 20 results for each query from CSE control panel > Search feature > Advance > Websearch Restricts > Results size and set it to 20. By default 10 results are displayed for every search.

Hi, I find that no matter how many results I get on google custom search, it only shows 10 pages, any way for me to see more pages?

Hi Olivia,

CSE will only serve 10 pages (100 results). Since the estimated result are more than 100 you see the results navigation link 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 at the bottom of the 1st results set. As you navigate to next results set i.e by clicking on pagination 2 3 etc you will start seeing the exact result number. Now, if you directly click on 9 or 10 link it may so happen that there are no results and therefore you get the message "no results found". 

You can retrieve only a maximum of 100 results i.e 10 pages, in total.

I was wondering what the API does when you change this setting and then I found that it still always only returns 10 results.

Hi Eugene,

One of the ways to implement your CSE engine on your website is using the Search Element code (code provided on the CSE control panel) on your website.

The other way is retrieving results using JSON API (enabled from Cloud Developer Console) using the CSE configuration and parsing the JSON API results using your own custom application and converting it to HTML and serving to your users.

Like to update that Google Custom Search Engine (CSE) and JSON API (enabled from Cloud developer Console) are two different products. Since there is no built-in API with CSE engine, if users wants to reterive results using JSON API, one needs to use the API key (enabled from Cloud Developer Console) along with the CSE engine ID and query. The results will be served as per the CSE configuration.

What if I really want to display 40 results?  Please just double the amount it couldnt be that hard for one of you to do??

How can I retrieve more results in Google search .

A keyword can only display a small number of results at a time through Google search ,A lot of information was hidden by Google ,I need to retrieve more complete results, how can I set it up?

If your query is related to Google Custom Search Engine (CSE), in that case, please be noted that with CSE engine, you can retrieve only a maximum of 100 results in total for a query.
