Use your search engine
There are several ways to access your Custom Search Engine. You can:
- Use the Google-hosted homepage that we provide you, and conduct your searches there.
To access the homepage for your search engine, sign in to Google Custom Search, and click Manage my search engines. Under Search engines I've created, click the name of the search engine you want.
- Place the Custom Search element on your own website, where anyone who visits your site can use it. Once you've created your search engine, click the Get code tab, copy the code, and paste it into your own site.
- Add a Custom Search Box Gadget to your iGoogle page. (The gadget should contain a search box for your search engine).
- Add a Custom Search Console Gadget to your iGoogle page. (The gadget should contain a search box and management tools for each of the search engines you've created or are contributing to.)
Google Site Search
Paid Users of Google Site Search can also use the XML API to retrieve XML results and customize their display. To learn how to retrieve XML results, review the Google WebSearch Protocol Reference. This document describes the technical details of the Google search request and results formats; sample code for XML API can be found in the developer documentation.
