Choosing a theme

Visit our Curriculum page for basic guidance on difficulty level and choose any theme that interests you and your students.

We recommend that you choose one theme per class as they are designed to be social and collaborative and there is a lot of value and support that students offer one another when they work on the same theme.

There is choice embedded in each theme in a variety of ways that elicit creativity and innovation by students including: add-ons, time to explore and extend, and if they finish, they can still access any and all of the other themed materials.

Select a start date

Select a start date for your class by either choosing a start date-only, or setting a detailed schedule.

Start date-only

This is the suggested option if you need flexibility in your schedule. Keep in mind that if you are requesting materials, your start date must be at least three weeks out.

With a start date-only, students must manually navigate to the activity they are on after they have signed in. To do this, have them click on Activities & Badges, and click on the activity they are on.

To change your start date at any time:

  1. Visit your  My Classes page.
  2. Click on the class you want to access.
  3. Click edit next to Step 2.
  4. Click Save Date.

Detailed schedule

If you know exactly which dates and times your class will run, you can select the option to "set a detailed schedule."

With detailed scheduling, students will automatically be directed to the activity they should be on according to the schedule you've selected.

To edit your schedule at any time:

  1. Visit your My Classes page.
  2. Click on the class you want to access.
  3. Click edit next to Step 2.
  4. Click Save Schedule.
