Google's CS First was turned down on June 30, 2025. When CS First launched in 2013, the intention was to provide much-needed resources for K-12 computer science education. The landscape has since evolved, with increased awareness and a wealth of instructional materials now available.
What other Scratch based curriculums should I use?
Google is supporting the Raspberry Pi Foundation in the development of Experience CS. The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a global leader in K-12 computer science education, known for making CS accessible through affordable hardware, software, and free curricula.
Experience CS will offer Scratch-based learning units in a safe, structured environment for students aged 8-14, and it will always be freely available to teachers and students. The Raspberry Pi Foundation aims to make Experience CS available in time for the 2025-2026 school year. We encourage you to explore this new platform as a resource for your computer science education needs!
What happened to my account and data after the shut down date?
After June 30, 2025, all CS First data stored by Google was permanently deleted and no longer accessible.
