To protect the privacy of people in photographs, Crowdsource Image Capture blurs faces in images before uploading. The exception to this is an image that Crowdsource identifies as a potential selfie: this includes all single-person faces taken from an approximate arm’s length distance.
Important: If Crowdsource identifies an image as a potential selfie and that image is not your face, you must blur the face before uploading using Blur faces .
You can also choose to blur your own face by using Blur faces before uploading.
Similarly, if you believe faces have been blurred in error, you can tap Unblur faces before uploading to unblur the faces in the image. Unblurring may be used only for these purposes:
- To remove a blur from faces on statues, in paintings, or in any other publicly available reproduction
- To remove a blur from your own face in a one-person selfie. Remember that Crowdsource will not blur any faces in one-person images taken from an approximate arm’s length.
Important: Please note that use of the unblurring feature for any purpose other than those specified above is prohibited. Use of this feature to unblur other faces in photographs may result in removal of your image from the Crowdsource database and termination of your access to Crowdsource. Use of the unblurring tool other than for the two specified uses above is prohibited. If you use this tool incorrectly or for the purpose of unblurring faces that are not your own, we may remove your image from the Crowdsource database and your access to the Crowdsource app may be terminated.
Note that blurring and unblurring have no effect on the original copy of the image stored on your device.
