Get started with Crowdsource

Crowdsource asks short, simple questions relevant to your language or community. Your answers help improve the quality of Google services that millions of people like you use—services like Google Translate, Google Maps, and Google Search.

To use Crowdsource, you can download the Crowdsource app on Android or you can go to https://crowdsource.google.com. Note that the tasks that appear on the web version of Crowdsource may be different from the tasks that appear in the app. (For example, Image Capture appears only in the app.)

Select languages

Note that you must select languages separately for Crowdsource on the web and on Android. The tasks that appear in Crowdsource may vary based on the languages you’ve selected.

1. Open the Crowdsource app  or navigate to crowdsource.google.com.
2. Tap Account menu  > Crowdsource Settings.
3. Go to Languages > Select the languages you speak fluently—that is, languages you can read and write and can translate both from and into.

Select a task

The Crowdsource Home screen lets you choose from a variety of different tasks. Note that the tasks that appear in the web version of Crowdsource are different from the tasks that appear in the Android app. (For example, Image Capture appears only in the app.)

Also note that Translation tasks appear only if you’ve selected more than one language under Crowdsource Settings and may also vary with the languages you’ve selected. You must select languages separately for Crowdsource on the web and on Android.
