Take surveys and redeem credit

Take surveys

With Google Opinion Rewards, you'll take surveys that are run by market researchers. Survey frequency may vary, and you don't have to answer every survey you receive. In exchange, we'll provide Google Play credits. Below, we've outlined some common questions regarding taking our surveys.

In which countries is the app currently available?
The Google Opinion Rewards app is currently available for download in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
Which Android users are eligible to receive surveys?
Users in the available countries who are over 18 years old are eligible.
How and when will I receive surveys?

In general, surveys are given out randomly. From time to time a few surveys will invite you to be on a "panel" but this will be addressed upfront and these types of surveys do not pay. If invited to be on a panel, you may receive surveys targeted to that panel specifically on a more regular or frequent basis. However, there are no guarantees for frequency of surveys regardless.

We use a number of techniques to discover users who are lying or trying to game the system. If we determine that you are not answering surveys truthfully, you will receive fewer surveys. Therefore, the best way to maximize your earnings is to be honest.

I've stopped receiving surveys or don't get very many. How can I get more?

We don't always have surveys to send you. In general, surveys are given out randomly and depend on our available inventory.

Additionally, we use a number of techniques to discover users who are lying or trying to game the system. If we determine that you are not answering surveys truthfully, you will receive fewer surveys. Therefore, the best way to maximize your earnings is to be honest and answer accurately and completely.

What if I don’t want to answer the survey questions?
Users always have a choice when prompted to answer additional survey questions. If you don’t feel like answering the given question, you can ignore it until your 24 hour window is up and wait until we have another survey question to offer you.
Do surveys expire? Do I get paid if I'm offline and can't submit my response?
Yes, surveys timeout after 24 hours. If you start the survey but are offline during the time it expires, we will notify you that the survey is ready for you to answer when you come back online. However, if the survey has expired when you come back online you will no longer be able to answer that survey or get paid a credit.
How much do you pay per survey?
The amount of Google Play credits you receive for answering surveys can vary and is dependent on the number of questions in the survey and the amount of time it takes to answer the survey. Answering questions in a certain way is not required to receive a credit and discouraged. The more honestly you answer questions, the more valuable your opinion is, and therefore, you may receive more surveys or credit.
How come I didn’t get paid for a survey?
For some surveys, such as the initial setup questions or when determining if you're the right fit for a panel, you will not receive Google Play credits. These surveys are used to improve our product or measure the quality of the respondent panel. Answering surveys truthfully is the best way to ensure you'll continue receiving credits and surveys.
How do I give you feedback?
To send feedback to the Google Opinion Rewards team about the app or a specific survey, tap on the menu button in the upper right hand corner of the app and then tap on the feedback menu item.

Redeem credits

When you answer surveys, you'll receive Google Play credit, which can be used in the Google Play store for apps, games, movies, TV shows, or music. See below for some of our most frequently asked question regarding redeeming credits with the Google Play store.

How do I redeem my Google Play credits?

During the setup process you will be asked to associate your Google Payments account so that we can apply the Google Play credits directly to your account. Once you answer the initial set of demographic questions and go through the survey tutorial you’ll receive a notification for your first paid survey. After answering the survey, you will see a confirmation page confirming the amount of credit that has been applied to your Google Payments account. You can redeem your credit by tapping on the "shop" button on the homescreen of the mobile app or by shopping directly from the Google Play store. IMPORTANT: Make sure you are logged in using the same login credentials in Google Play as the login you used with your Opinion Rewards App and Google Payments account to transfer the credits successfully.

Will I be able to use the credit for anything in the Google Play store?
The credit can be used to purchase any app, game, movie, TV show, or music that is found in Google Play. The credit can also be used for in-app purchases. The credits do expire one year from when the credit was applied to your account. Google Play credit cannot be redeemed for Android app subscriptions, magazine subscriptions, or hardware and accessory purchases. Play credits cannot be used to purchase books or magazines in Spain and Germany. Refer to the Google Play Promotional Balance Terms for more details.
Do my credits expire?
Yes, credits accrued through Google Opinion Rewards expire 1 year from the date of your most recently completed survey.
If I don’t have enough Google Play credits to purchase the app I want, can I supplement it with my own money?
You can only combine another form of payment with your credits when the remaining Play Balance is less than the total order amount of your purchase. Then you can use the rest of your Play Balance and combine it with another form of payment (for example, credit/debit card) to complete your purchase.
Is there a way for me to answer additional surveys to get more Google Play store credits?
At this time the only way to answer a survey is when we notify you that there is one available to answer. Please note that answering surveys honestly and with correct information is the best way to ensure you'll continually receive surveys.
How does the revenue share between Google Play, Google Consumer Surveys and the app developer work?
For apps that are purchased with Google Play credits earned through the Google Opinion Rewards mobile app, the revenue share is identical to the existing Google Play revenue share.
I didn’t get credit for the survey I completed, where do I report this?
Credits could take a few days to be applied to your account. If you received a screen saying there was an issue sending the response, check to see if you installed AdBlocker, turn AdBlocker off, and restart the Opinion Rewards App. If you received a screen saying you earned credit for completing a Survey, but still haven't received credit within 7 days, please tap on the menu button in the upper right hand corner of the app and then tap on the feedback menu item.
It seems like I lost some of my credits. Where did they go?
You can see a history of how your credits have been spent by logging into Google Payments.
