How do I install Gears on another Mozilla based browser?

There are 3 steps:

Go to the install directory of Gears:
Mac OS X - ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<yourprofile>/extensions/{000a9d1c-beef-4f90-9363-039d445309b8}
Windows - C:\Program Files\Google\Google Gears\Firefox
Linux - ./mozilla/firefox/<yourprofile>/extensions/{000a9d1c-beef-4f90-9363-039d445309b8}
Modify the install.rdf file:
1. Do a search on any search engine for the GUID of the Mozilla variant you are using. The example below uses Flock's
2. Add this to your install.rdf file under the last </em:targetApplication> (note: id is the GUID):

Zip up the contents of the directory, rename the .ZIP to .XPI, drag the .XPI into your Mozilla variant.
