No authentication is required to browse project pages or issues, or to check out source code. To create or comment on an issue, though, you'll need to be logged in to your Google account. To manage issue metadata or commit to a project's Subversion repository, you'll need to be logged in to your Gmail account and either be a "project owner" or a "project member."
