Add, edit, or delete app login credentials

Password vaulted apps were available in Cloud Identity Premium edition until June 2022. Shutdown of this feature started on September 21, 2022, and will complete by June 21, 2023. Learn more

Login credentials are managed usernames and passwords with access to various applications. As an administrator, you can add, edit, or delete credentials from the password vaulted apps page in the Google Admin console.

Important: Before you add, edit, or delete app login credentials, you need to set up a new group structure in the Google Admin console that’s designed specifically for password vaulted apps. For instructions, see Get started with password vaulted apps.

Add credentials

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Appsand thenPassword vaulted apps.
  3. Click one of the apps on the password vaulted apps page.
  4. Click the Credentials panel.
    If the app has no credentials associated with it, click Add credential.
    If a list is displayed with multiple credentials, click Add credential at the top of the page.
  5. In the Label field, type a name for the credential.
  6. Type a username and password.
  7. Click SAVE.

Edit credentials

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Appsand thenPassword vaulted apps.
  3. Click one of the apps on the password vaulted apps page.
  4. Click the Credentials panel.
  5. Scroll over one of the credentials, and click Edit on the right side of the screen.
  6. In the Edit credential window, make changes to the Label, Username, and/or Password.
  7. Important: Update the password in the application before saving the changes to these steps.
  8. Click SAVE.

Delete individual credentials

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Appsand thenPassword vaulted apps.
  3. Click one of the apps on the password vaulted apps page.
  4. Click the Credentials panel.
  5. Scroll over one of the credentials, and click Delete on the right side of the screen.
  6. From the Delete credential window, click DELETE.
