About your user cap

The number of Cloud Identity users you can create is governed by your user cap. Your user cap is the total number of users you can create across all of your Google Cloud services. It varies based on the types of Google Cloud services you are subscribed to. If you purchase additional licenses for paid Google Cloud services, such as G Suite, your user cap automatically increases.

How Cloud Identity affects your cap

When you sign up for a Cloud Identity subscription, your user cap increases by 50. Therefore, you can create at least 50 Cloud Identity users.

How do I know if I’m approaching my cap?

To see the remaining number of free Cloud Identity users you can create:

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console dashboard, go to Billing.
  3. Under Subscriptions, go to Cloud Identity to see the number of remaining users.

If you reach your cap

If you’re approaching your user cap, you'll get an error message when you try to add users. If you reach your cap and want to create additional users:

  1. Make sure you’re signed in with your administrator account.
  2. Fill out this form to request a cap increase.
