Cloud Talent Solution Troubleshooter

This guide outlines troubleshooting solutions for the following issues, commonly encountered when generating search results:

A job or jobs are being returned in search results that should not contain these jobs.
A job or jobs are not being returned in search results that should contain these jobs.
A job or jobs are being returned too high or too low in the search results.
Similar jobs are being returned next to each other in the search results.
Not enough jobs are being returned in my search results.

Before you begin:

Make sure you have enabled data logging and are properly authenticated access to Cloud Talent Solution.
Make sure that you have the search request, search response, and the requestID of the search you are troubleshooting available for use.

What problem are you experiencing?A job is not returning in the search results and it should be there.A job is being returned in the search results but it shouldn't be there.A job should be returned either higher or lower in the search results than it actually is.Similar jobs are appearing next to each other in the search results.Not enough or no jobs are being returned for my query.My non-English query is returning unexpected results.

Make sure that the job exists by using the GET method with the job Name. Was a job returned?YesNo

Does the postingExpireTime timestamp post-date the timestamp of the search request?YesNo

Check the search query’s location filter. Is the unexpected job is outside of the location’s distanceInMiles bound?YesNo

Is enableBroadening set to True?YesNo

Are you using the FEATURED_JOB_SEARCH searchMode?YesNo

Does your query use an orderBy enum other than relevance desc?YesNo

Is diversificationLevel set to "disabled" in the job query?YesNo

Does setting diversificationLevel to “simple” fix the issue of similar jobs being returned next to each other?No

Is disableKeywordMatch set to True?YesNo

Is a languageCode explicitly specified in the job(s) that are expected to be returned with this query?YesNo

Check the languageCodes field of the query. Does it contain a BCP-47 language code, and does this code match the languageCode of the job?YesNo
