Your application appears to have a health research designation

Based on the information you provided, we need to assess whether your application is using Google user data to enable health research. All apps accessing data for this purpose are required to follow the Google Fit Health Research Policy and complete an additional assessment. AI/ML models used by your application appear to interact with user data obtained through Workspace APIs and/or Photos APIs

The Limited use of user data requirement of the Workspace API user data and developer policy and the Limited use of user data requirement of the Photos API User Data and Developer Policy prohibit using, transferring, or selling user data from Google Workspace APIs and Photos APIs to create, train, or improve a foundational machine learning or artificial intelligence model (i.e., beyond that specific user’s personalized model for the appropriate use case or user-facing feature). This restriction applies equally to the raw data obtained from the scopes AND data aggregated, anonymized, or derived from the scopes.

You can learn more about this policy in the OAuth App Verification Center FAQs and how it impacts your Workspace APIs request in the Google Workspace API Policy Protections for Generative AI announcement.

Step 1: If you intend to use Google Workspace or Photos user data to train generalized AI and/or ML models:

Reply directly to the email you received from the OAuth Verification team, and we will close your request.

Step 2: If your app is using Google Workspace or Photos data to train personalized AI/ML models ONLY, or your app is not using Google Workspace or Photos user data to train or improve AI/ML models at all:

Reply directly to the email you received from the OAuth Verification team and confirm the following:

You have added an affirmative statement to your application or on the application website attesting compliance with the Limited Use restrictions. For example:

  • "The use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements."
