Recertification

Google Cloud technology is ever-evolving. We require recertification to ensure that you are maintaining your skills on updated technology and platforms. All Professional Google Cloud certifications are valid for two years from the date an individual certifies. The Cloud Digital Leader and the Associate Cloud Engineer certifications are valid for three years from the date an individual certifies. You must recertify in order to maintain your certification status and certificate number (i.e., Series ID). As one of the benefits of being Google Cloud certified, you will receive a 50% discount code applicable toward your recertification.

For more information, review the FAQs below:

Will I be notified when I need to recertify?

Yes. You will receive renewal notifications 90, 60, and 30 days prior to your certification expiration date. Reminder emails will be sent to the email address you inputted into Kryterion’s Webassessor during your exam registration process.

You will be provided 30 additional days beyond your certification expiration date to renew your certification.

Am I allowed to get recertified before the start of the 60 day recertification window?

No. You may not attempt the same exam while currently certified unless you are within the recertification eligibility period starting 60 days prior to your certification expiration date. If you violate these terms, your exam result will be rejected, you forfeit any exam fees paid, any current certification(s) may be revoked, and you could be suspended from the Google Cloud Certification Program.

I did not receive the notification that my certification expired. What happens now?

Google Cloud uses the primary email address listed in your Webassessor profile for all Google Cloud Certification communications. Please contact us if you want to update your email address for notification purposes.

My certification has expired. What happens now?

To continue receiving the certification benefits, you will need to take the exam again to recertify. Please note that taking the exam more than 30 days after your certification expires will not renew the same certification; you will be allotted a new certification Series ID, and you must pay the full list price of the exam.

Can I recertify by passing a beta exam?

Yes, you may participate in a beta exam regardless of your certification status. If you are already certified, passing a beta exam counts as recertification. You are only allowed one attempt on the beta exam. If you don't pass the beta exam, you must wait for the final version of the exam to open to the general public and try again. Failing a beta exam does not count toward the total allowable attempts on the final exam (4 attempts). More information about beta exams can be found here.
