As the workplace becomes increasingly digital, collaborating effectively using real-time productivity tools is becoming a prerequisite skill. Getting Google Cloud Certified in G Suite signals to employers your readiness to operate in today's modern work environment. By earning the G Suite certification, you prove your ability to use cloud-based tools to create and share documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and files. You also demonstrate that you can communicate effectively with email and online meeting applications.

The online exam will be taken on your own time at your home, office, or a nearby testing center; your video, audio, and desktop will be recorded for proctoring purposes. The testing centers are available in limited locations.

Cancellation and Reschedule

  1. I am late for the scheduled exam. Will I still be allowed to take the exam?

There is a 15-minute grace period after your scheduled start time where your exam will remain active. After 15 minutes, your exam will be automatically canceled and you will need to register for the exam again.

 
  1. For exams administered at the on-site test center, what happens if I reschedule or cancel less than 48 hours before the scheduled time, or don’t show up for my exam?

If you reschedule or cancel your exam within 48 hours of your exam time, you will be charged a rescheduling or cancellation fee. The fee will be less than the full price of an exam.

If you do not show up for your exam, your exam fee is forfeited and you will not receive a refund.

 
  1. I will not be able to take the exam at the scheduled time. How can I cancel or reschedule my session?

Cancel or reschedule your exam 48 hours before the scheduled exam time to avoid any fees. You can do so by logging in to your ProctorU account.

General Questions

  1. What is the age limit to take G Suite certification remotely or at a public testing center?

Test takers must be 18+ years of age to take the G Suite Certification exam remotely. Test takers between 13 and 18 years of age can take the exam at their schools. Please visit this page for details.

 
  1. What form of ID is acceptable in the exam?

You can use any valid government-issued photo ID. Review the list of acceptable identifications.

 
  1. Can I take the G Suite certification exam in my native language other than English?

Currently, the exam is available in English only. Please note, we allow translating the default Chrome browser and questions to your native language. However, all answers to performance-based questions will be validated in English only. This means that any response in a non-English language will not be scored. We are working to localize the G Suite certification in additional languages. Please continue to check our website for up-to-date information.

 
  1. What is academic pricing for G Suite Certification and how can I use it?

Our program offers a 50% discount rate to all students and educators, including administrators. This applies to those in both the K–12 and higher education (including community, technical and vocational colleges) spaces.

The discount will be automatically applied when you register for the G Suite Certification exam using your education domain.

 
  1. I am associated with a higher education institution but I am unable to use the academic pricing at the time of registration.

If you are using your education domain to register for the exam but are unable to use the academic discount, your education domain might not be registered with us. To receive academic pricing, complete this form, and we will contact you in 3-5 business days to confirm your eligibility.

 
  1. When is the earliest I can take the exam after registration?

You can schedule whenever you’re ready to take the online proctored exam. After the payment is confirmed and the exam is scheduled, the average wait time to start the session is 15 minutes.

 
  1. Are breaks allowed during my exam?

No breaks are allowed during your exam. If you have a medical condition requiring accommodations, you can request them before your scheduled exam time. Please reach out to Google support to make a request.

 
  1. Will I get certified if I pass?

Yes! If you pass the exam, you will be emailed a digital certificate. We encourage you to share this on your LinkedIn profile, Twitter and Facebook accounts, and with family and friends.

 
  1. How will my exam information be used for remotely proctored exams?

Some online exams require third-party proctoring by our certification partner, ProctorU. All exam information collected is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and ProctorU's Privacy Policy, as applicable.

 
  1. How do I contact support?

For questions regarding technical requirements, registration, scheduling, medical accommodations, cancellations, or connection issues, please contact ProctorU support.

Remote proctoring

  1. How long will it take to complete the exam?

An online proctor will verify your identity and launch the exam. This should take about eight minutes. Once the exam is launched, you are allotted 120 minutes to complete the exam. We recommend connecting an additional 15 minutes early to guarantee adequate time to go through equipment testing and verification. .

 
  1. What resources am I allowed to have with me during the exam?

Please have a valid photo ID at the time of the exam. You will not be allowed to use a phone, scratch paper, writing instruments, note-taking materials, or headphones during the exam. Possessing any of these items during the exam is in violation of our terms and conditions and may result in a rejected exam record.

 
  1. Does my exam begin when I connect with ProctorU?

No, the exam does not begin until the exam has been unlocked by your proctor.

 
  1. Can I use online resources during the exam?

No. Opening any other tab or window will notify your proctor and the exam will be auto-canceled.

G Suite Retirement

  1. Why is the G Suite certification being retired?
    1. G Suite technology is constantly evolving, and with that evolution comes the challenge for the learner to hone their skills. G Suite users are now expected to have a deep understanding of all applications within the G Suite product set and perform advanced functions within those applications. Unfortunately the current G Suite certification does not meet these requirements. For these reasons, the G Suite Certification will be retired on December 31, 2020. As a response, we will be reimagining the certification in 2021 and will design and develop new training and assessment options that fit our audiences’ needs.  
  2. When is the G Suite Certification being retired?
    1. The certification will be retired on December 31, 2020 at 11:59 PM CST. 
  3. When is the last day I can register to take the G Suite Certification?
    1. The last day to register for the G Suite Certification is 12/13/20, and the last day to take the G Suite certification is 12/15/20. This will allow ample time to receive your results, and decide whether or not a second attempt is needed. If you would like to attempt the certification a second time between 12/16/20 - 12/31/20, please contact support@proctoru.com to schedule. 
  4. I failed the exam. Will I get a second attempt?
    1. Per our Google Cloud Certification program policy, if you fail the exam the first time you must wait 14 days to attempt the exam again. If you would like to attempt the certification a second time between 12/16/20 - 12/31/20, please contact support@proctoru.com.
  5. What does this mean if I am already certified?
    1. The G Suite certification has a 2-year expiration date. You will continue to be certified until your credential expires. There will not be an opportunity for individuals to recertify after the exam’s retirement on 12/31/20.
  6. I was G Suite certified, but my exam expired. What does this mean for me? 
    1. We welcome all previously certified individuals to recertify. The last day to register for the G Suite Certification is 12/13/20, and the last day to take the G Suite certification is 12/15/20. This will allow ample time to receive your results, and decide whether or not a second attempt is needed. If you would like to attempt the certification a second time between 12/16/20 - 12/31/20, please contact support@proctoru.com to schedule.
  7. My certification is about to expire. What do I do?
    1. We welcome all certified individuals to recertify. The last day to register for the G Suite Certification is 12/13/20, and the last day to take the G Suite certification is 12/15/20. This will allow ample time to receive your results, and decide whether or not a second attempt is needed. If you would like to attempt the certification a second time between 12/16/20 - 12/31/20, please contact support@proctoru.com to schedule.
  8. Is there a replacement for the G Suite certification?
    1. Google is reimagining the G Suite credentials in 2021 and will create a new curriculum focused on the enterprise user. There will not be an immediate alternative for K12 students. Please continue to check our website for the most up-to-date information regarding our G Suite training portfolio. We recommend educators and students continue to use the EDU Teacher Center and Applied Digital Skills, respectively, to develop digital skills with the practical application of G Suite apps.

  10. I purchased vouchers for my company. What happens to them?
    1. Any vouchers purchased for the G Suite certification must be redeemed on or before 12/15/20. This will allow ample time for each individual to receive their results, and decide whether or not a second attempt is needed. If they would like to attempt the certification a second time between 12/16/20 - 12/31/20, please contact support@proctoru.com to schedule.
  11. Can I get a refund for my unused lines of credit? 
    1. Yes, you will receive a refund for any unused lines of credit in groups.proctoru.com. Refund requests can be submitted to ar@proctoru.com starting 10/1/2020 and responses can take up to 72 hours. In the subject line, please put "G-suite certification refund". In the body of the email, please include the following information:
      1. School Name
      2. Payment Type (check or credit card)
  12. I received a grant from Google for my students to take the G Suite Certification. However, I have not used it. What happens to my grant?
    1. All outstanding balances for grants awarded by Google will be refunded directly to Google by ProctorU. 
  13. Can eligible K12 students still take the G Suite exam via group test taking before the December deadlines?
    1. Students 18 years of age or older can take the G Suite Certification exam remotely until the stated deadline. K12 students between 13-17 years of age can take the exam via group testing until the stated deadline. However students must test in a group environment at their educational institution.
  14. Can the retirement of the G Suite exam be extended beyond December 2020 deadlines to coincide with the end of the 2020-2021 academic school year in order to accommodate educators and students who have planned to take the exam?
    1. Unfortunately no, the exam deadline can not be extended past the December deadline.
