Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why are you making this change?
A: To enhance the candidate testing experience, the Google Cloud certification program is partnering with Pearson. With nearly a decade in the industry, the Google Cloud certification program recognizes Pearson’s 30+ years of leadership in assessment delivery. This partnership leverages Pearson’s extensive network of over 5,000 test centers across 180+ countries and their recent advancements in online proctoring, ensuring continued delivery of exceptional testing experiences at scale.

Q: Will I need to create an account in Pearson?
A: No. You do not need to create a separate Pearson account. You will access exams directly through CM Connect.
Q: How does this change the process for scheduling an exam?

Q: How does this change the check-in process for online proctored exams?
A: The process is the same. A self check-in option is available for candidates testing via the online proctored solution. Self check-in is performed through automation including artificial intelligence and does not include a human greeter. Identification validation is performed through automated technology and facial comparison using the government-issued identification presented by the Candidate and a photograph taken through the delivery system at the time of check-in. Where legally permissible, the Candidate will be prompted to:
Take a picture of him/herself within the delivery system. Present his/her government issued photo identification; and Do a 360 degree room scan of the testing space.Q: Is live support available in multiple languages?

A: No. The retake policy remains the same.
Q: Will changing the test delivery provider affect the program’s reschedule or cancellation policy?
A: Yes. The new policy for Pearson test center AND online deliveries requires appointments be rescheduled or cancelled a minimum of 24 hours prior to the appointment. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the candidate's exam fee.

A: No changes will be made to the exam content or questions. The exam format will remain the same, only the layout and delivery interface will be updated as part of the Pearson transition.

Q: What if I have an exam voucher that has not yet been redeemed?
A: Unless otherwise notified, if you have been provided an exam voucher by Google, through a Google campaign/promotion, and it has an expiration date after February 22, 2026, the code can be redeemed in Pearson until its expiration date.
