Which Looker exams are available?
Registration for the Looker LookML Developer exam is open through March 2022. Registration is not available for the Looker Business Analyst exam, as it has been retired. If you have an existing Google Cloud profile on Kryterion/Webassessor, you may use that to log in and register for your Looker Certification exam.
How can I register for the exam?
The exam is available in the Google Cloud instance of Kryterion/Webassessor at webassessor.com/googlecloud.
- If you have both a Looker profile and a Google Cloud profile for Kryterion/Webassessor, please use your Google Cloud profile to log in and register for your Looker exam.
- If you only had a Looker profile, Kryterion created a new Google Cloud profile for you. It is your Looker username with -gc at the end. So if your username was LookerTestTaker, your new username is LookerTestTaker-gc. If you cannot find the email from Kryterion in your inbox, please request a password reset for your new account here.
- If you only have a Google Cloud profile for Kryterion/Webassessor, please use your Google Cloud profile to log in and register for your Looker exam.
- If you’ve never created an account in Webassessor before, please do so at webassessor.com/googlecloud
Why can't I log in to my old Looker Kryterion/Webassessor account?
The exams have migrated to the Google Cloud region of Kryterion/Webassessor. If you have an active Looker Certification, your transcript will also be migrated to the Google Cloud region (migration is expected to complete in January 2022).
- If you have both a Looker profile and a Google Cloud profile for Kryterion/Webassessor, your transcript should migrate to your existing Google Cloud profile.
- If you only had a Looker profile, Kryterion created a new Google Cloud profile for you. It is your Looker username with -gc at the end. So if your username was LookerTestTaker, your new username is LookerTestTaker-gc. If you cannot find the email from Kryterion in your inbox, please request a password reset for your new account here. Your transcript will be migrated to this account.
Does the migration mean that I get a new badge?
Yes! If you gained your certification in 2021 (either first pass or through maintenance), you will receive a digital badge once transcript migration is complete. (If you passed your exam in the Google Cloud region, you'll receive it when your results are confirmed.)
I took my exam in 2019 or 2020 and didn't complete the maintenance in 2021. How do I extend my certification?
Certifications gained in 2019 and 2020 are valid for 1 year. In order to maintain your certified status, you'll need to take the exam again.
What languages are the Looker exams offered in?
Currently, English is the only available language for the Looker exams.
I have a voucher for the Looker exams, can I use it in the Google Cloud instance of Webassessor?
Unfortunately, all vouchers from the Looker instance expired on June 30, 2021 and cannot be used in the Google Cloud instance.
Will I receive any official swag for passing a Looker Certification exam?

How long will I be able to take the Looker Exams for?
The Looker Business Analyst and Looker LookML Developer exams will be retired as follows:
The Looker Business Analyst certification exam will be retired on December 31, 2021 at 11:59 PM PST.
The LookML Developer certification exam will be retired on March 31, 2022 at 11:59 PM PST.
What does this mean for those who currently hold a Looker certification?
All Looker certifications are still recognized and valid until their expiration date. This will include a 2 year validity date from the date you passed your exam; please note this is an extension to the normal 1 year validity period. No additional action is required on your behalf for any held Looker certification. Should your recertification window open between now and the end of 2021 for the Looker Business Analyst (BA) exam, or March 31, 2022 for the LookML Developer exam, you may still choose to recertify, and your certification will be valid for 2 years as of your passing date.
What does this mean for those who have expired certifications?
If your certification has expired, it is no longer currently valid. However, we recognize your efforts and celebrate your achievement; thank you for achieving a certification in the past. Our certifications have a 2 year validity period to keep up with changes in technologies and role responsibilities. If you wish to certify again, please do so before your desired exam’s last testing date,, and your certification will be valid for 2 years as of your passing date.
When is the last day I can register for a Looker Business Analyst or LookML Developer certification exam ?
The last day to register for a Looker Business Analyst (BA) certification exam was December 15th, 2021, and the last day to take the exam was December 31, 2021.
The last day to register for a LookML Developer certification exam is March 15th, 2022, and the last day to take the exam is March 31, 2022.
I failed a Looker exam. Will I get an attempt to retake the exam?
All exam attempts must be completed on or before 11:59 PM PST on the final day of testing for each exam. Please plan your exam attempts accordingly.
What if my recertification window arrives before the exam is retired?
Should an individual’s normal recertification window arrive before the exam is retired, the individual may attempt to recertify by taking the exam, and their certification will thus be active for 2 years as of their recertification date.
It is also important to note that our robust Looker training and learning offerings will be unaffected, and will continue to drive value for individuals who work with Looker even past the expiration date of the certification exam.
My certification is about to expire. What should I do?
If your certification is about to expire, we highly recommend that you renew your certification on or before the final day of testing for each exam. If you do not recertify before this date, your certification status will become inactive. Should you fail an exam within the 14 day retake policy waiting period before the final day of testing, you will not be able to retake the exam again. Please plan your exam attempts accordingly.

I purchased vouchers for my company. What happens to them?
Any unused, unexpired vouchers for Looker exams purchased by your company will no longer be valid upon the exams’ retirement. We suggest that these vouchers be consumed before the expiration date of the programs.
Can I get a refund for my unused scheduled exam?
Any Looker Business Analyst, or LookML Developer exams must be executed on or before 11:59 PM PST on the final day of testing for the exam.
