These steps assume that you’re familiar with using Clonezilla to deploy operating systems to computers.
What you need
- Device with firmware/BIOS set to boot in UEFI boot mode
- Device with at least 64 GB of internal storage
- Clonezilla version 3.0.2-21 or later
- ChromeOS Flex Clonezilla disk image [LINK]
How to
On your target device:
- Start Clonezilla in device-image mode. Select device-image work with disks or partitions using images.
- Select the image repository, such as USB drive, network location, and so on.
- Choose beginner mode—Select Beginner mode: Accept the default options.
- Choose restoredisk mode—Select Restore_an_image_to_local_disk.
- Choose the image file to restore—Select the ChromeOS_Flex image from your image repository.
- Select the target disk.
Note: All existing data is deleted and relaced. - Select Use the partition table from the image. Choosing another type of partition table modification will cause the process to fail
- (Optional) Select whether to check if the image is restorable. Select an option:
- Yes, check the image before restoring—Recommended.
- No, skip checking the image before restoring—Saves you some time.
- Select the action you want to perform afterwards. Choose an option:
- -p choose Choose reboot/shutdown/etc when everything is finished
- -p true Enter command line prompt
- -p reboot Reboot
- -p poweroff Shutdown
- To start the process, follow the onscreen prompts.
- When the process completes, reboot the device. The device reboots in the standard ChromeOS first-boot user interface.
