Monitor the health of devices

As an administrator, you can run diagnostic tests on your Google Meet hardware. Then, you can analyze the results of the last 10 tests. Check your devices for connection quality, video bandwidth, resolution, and audio capture. The results keep individual user data private. 

Diagnose Google Meet hardware​

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Go to Menu and then Devicesand thenGoogle Meet hardwareand thenDevices.
  3. Choose an option:
    • Filter the devices by organizational unit or other criteria.
    • Click a device name to select it.

      If you don’t see the device, scroll down the list to find it. You might need to go to the next page or further to find the device.

  4. In the Diagnostics section, click Run Diagnostics Now.
    The results will be available after a few minutes.

Analyze test results

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Go to Menu and then Devicesand thenGoogle Meet hardwareand thenDevices.
  3. Choose an option:
    • Filter the devices by organizational unit or other criteria.
    • Click a device name to select it.

      If you don’t see the device, scroll down the list to find it. You might need to go to the next page or further to find the device.

      If tests were run for the device, the 10 most recent runs are summarized in a list, including the date and time for each test. The list specifies whether tests ran successfully in specific categories, if any failures occurred, or if there are warnings.

  4. For detailed diagnostic results, point to an item in the list and click View details.
  5. (Optional) From the Diagnostics details window, click Download as CSV to download a CSV file of the diagnostic data.

You can then use the CSV file to generate and share reports with colleagues.

Use the Meet quality tool

Requires having the Admin quality dashboard access privilege.

Use the Meet quality tool (MQT) to diagnose network and connectivity issues.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Go to Menu and then Devicesand thenGoogle Meet hardwareand thenDevices.
  3. At the bottom left, under More, click Meet quality tool.
    Or, to see the MQT page for a specific call or device, click on the device and choose an option:
    • If there’s a meeting happening, then from the active call banner at the top, click Monitor call quality.
    • Under Related tools, click Device call quality.
      This shows you the recent call history for that device in the MQT.
