Bought a chromecast for my LG TV. USED MY pHONE TO STEAM HBOMAX. My wife wanted a remote to use the chromcast UI. We bought a seperate chromecast remote from the google store. WE cant pair them. Can you help? So two seperate purchases and we wanna use them together.

Hi Shannon,

Is your question about the Chromecast with Google TV or the Google Chromecast 3rd generation as you specified in your question details?

A remote control can not be used with a 3rd generation Chromecast, it is only usable with the Chromecast with Google TV!
