New chromecast with google tv keeps turning off it's wifi and I have to manually turn it back .

Just got my new chromecast Saturday and I've noticed that it keeps turning off it's wifi. I have to go into the settings and turn it on. Is there a fix or is this a known issue?

Having exact same issue.  I've been using newest chromecast with google tv for about a week.  Seems every time the device powers itself off, when I turn it back on the wifi is disconnected and I have to manually turn it back on from settings.

When setting up a unit for a relative, we found that periodically the device would disconnect with the toast notification stating "wifi connection lost". The settings would show that the chromecast is searching for an IP and reads as 0.0.0.0. Cycling the connection brings it back for roughly an hour. All other devices on the WiFi were working normally. Switching to a static license didn't resolve the connection drops.

Exactly the same issue.  Each day the wifi is toggled to off. Bizarre bug.  Needs fixing pronto!

I have the same issue, it seemed to happen abruptly last night and switches off in the middle of streaming, super frustrating

Having the same issue. Really annoying.
Did not have this issue with previous Chromecast 3 in the sane HDMI port of my HiFi receiver. Fire TV next to Chromecast also working fine and don't disable WiFi automatically when powered off.

Chromecast connected with included wall plug and no extension cable. Using 2.4 GHz with a AVM router. No repeater. All other devices connected (smartphone, Fire TV, 3 Echo speaker) work flawless. Concurrent connections can't be the problem here as the previously used Chromecast had no such issue. There's only one DECT device connected which is in eco mode 99% of the time.

This seems to be a firmware bug. Don't see how the previously given instructions or tips should solve this.

Also annoying is that Chromecast renders it's dashboard again when you power it own it if you return to it from an app with the home button. This takes 1-5s
Not to talk about the missing feature to automatically switch frame rates. Makes using DAZN and a German TV streaming app a pain watching sports.

@James: it's not about losing WiFi signal, Chromecast with Google TV disables the WiFi setting of the device. I don't see how a DECT device or not enough concurrent WiFi connections could disable a setting in another device.

The problem isn't interference. The device connects to wifi great! The problem is that the firmware disables the wifi connection completely. As soon as you reenable wifi on the device, it connects instantly.

This happened to me too. It doesn't drop the wifi connection, it's not a wifi signal problem. Previous chromecast 2md generation worked like a charm. It would completely turn off / toggle off WiFi in the settings. Once I manually turn it on, it reconnects speedily. I updated to the latest firmware.
