Casting IPTV channels

Hi all,

I've been using Chromecast firmware version 1.22.78337 for some time and overall I'm very satisfied with it. Still, there are some things I'm not able to do and maybe someone here can help me with them.

I'm subscribed to an IPTV plan and I would like to cast those IPTV channels to Chromecast but I'm not succeeding. For streaming/watching those IPTV channels I'm using VLC player which still doesn't support casting to Chromecast.

Those IPTV channels are in an m3u list and each channel is a http url in a format like this one http://someportal.link:8080/live/somecode/somecode/name.ts, so I can also use it like that if needed. If I try to open that url in a web browser a download of a ts file starts and it's not stoping.

Can you please tell me of a way I could cast these IPTV channels to Chromecast?

Thanks in advance.
Milan

Hi Milan,

Thanks for stopping by the Chromecast Help Forum. It sounds like this content is not optimized for casting, but I do suggest taking a look at Supported Media for Google Cast to see what audio and video formats are supported.

Hopefully another user who has had success casting IPTV can chime in and help you out.

Cheers,
Christina
