Chromecast Ultra ethernet connection not working

Received my new Ultra on 11/7.  Tried to set up with a wired connection.  Would not work.  Found a statement from Google saying they have a known issue with ethernet not working when setting up.  Solution was to set up with wireless and then once done you could just connect the ethernet cable and all would be fine.

That is not the case.  The moment I connect my ethernet cable I no longer am able to stream.  I stream just fine wireless, but with ethernet my phone can't see the Ultra.

Google, are you working on a fix for this?

Hi there Scott,

Thanks for posting in the Chromecast Help Forum.  Have you tried going the troubleshooting steps on the Ethernet Adapter: Quick Start Guide?
Let me know how it goes!

Hi Grace,

I did follow the "workaround" steps provided by Google.  All works fine until I plug in the ethernet cable.  Once I do that my devices(phone and tablet) can no longer find the Chromecast Ultra.

And yes, I did get a update pushed to my Chromecast during setup.

So where I'm at is that my Ultra works wirelessly but not via ethernet.  I'd really like to get the ethernet working.

Regards,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your reply! There's another set of troubleshooting steps on that same page under the Can't Cast? Try these troubleshooting steps section.  Give those a shot, and if the issue persists, we can continue our troubleshooting.

Best,
Grace

None of the additional tips worked.

I have the exact same issue.  I had to setup the Chromecast Ultra via WiFi first, but once I attach the Ethernet cable, the device disappears from the network.  Unplug the cable and it is visible again.  I have tried all the troubleshooting tips also.
