Authentication isn't successful

If your Google Nest or Google Home speaker or display is having trouble connecting to your Google Account, try the steps below: 

  1. Make sure your speaker or display is connected to Wi-Fi and your internet is working.
  2. Reboot your speaker or display using one of the methods below:
    1. From the Google Home app:
      1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
      2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
      3. Tap and hold your device's tile.
      4. At the top right, tap Settings  and then More More menu and then Reboot.
    2. Unplug Google Nest or Google Home
      1. Unplug the power cord from your speaker or display.
      2. Leave it unplugged for one minute.
      3. Plug the power cord back in.
