Chromecast firmware versions

Here's an overview of the fixes and improvements included in the latest firmware update for Chromecast (1st gen), Chromecast, and Chromecast Audio devices.

Current Preview Program firmware version 

Firmware version 1.24.88007 are currently available to all Chromecast (1st gen) devices.

Firmware version 1.24.88047 is currently available to all  Chromecast Audio devices.

Firmware version 1.24.88223 is currently available to all Chromecast Ultra devices.

How to check your firmware version

To check which firmware version you're on,
  1. Make sure your phone or tablet is connected to same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device. 
  2. From your Android or iOS device, open the Google Home app Chromecast cast icon.
  3. Tap DEVICES to see your available Chromecast devices. 
  4. Scroll to find the device card for the Chromecast you'd like to find the firmware version for.
  5. In the top right corner of the device card, tap the device card menu .
  6. Tap Settings.
  7. Scroll to the bottom and look for Cast firmware version: X.XXX.XXXXX.
