Factory reset before returning

If you ever need to give someone a Chromecast you've already set up (whether as a gift, to return the device to a retailer, etc.), please be sure to factory reset your device before you do so. A factory reset clears your data from Chromecast.

You can perform a factory reset on your Chromecast Audio by using one of the two methods listed below:

From the Google Home app

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. Tap and hold your device's tile.
3. At the top right, tap Settings   More   Factory reset  Factory reset.

From the Chromecast Audio device

While the Chromecast Audio is plugged in, hold down the button on the side of the Chromecast Audio. The LED will begin blinking orange. When the LED light turns white, release the button and the Chromecast Audio will begin the reboot sequence.
