Locate your Chromecast or Google TV Streamer MAC address

If your router has MAC address filtering enabled, you'll need to add the MAC address of your Google streaming device to the list of filtered devices. To find the MAC address of your streaming device, follow the steps below:

Chromecast

Locate the MAC address during Chromecast setup

  1. From the "Connect to Wi-Fi" screen of the setup process, in the top right, tap More 3 dot menu icon.
  2. Tap Show MAC Address.

Locate the MAC address after Chromecast setup

  1.  Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  3.  At the top right, tap Settings  and then Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check your MAC address.

Chromecast with Google TV

  1. Turn on your Chromecast with Google TV.
  2. In the top right corner of your TV screen, select Settings  and then System and then About and then Status and then MAC address.

Google TV Streamer (4K)

  1. Turn on your Google TV Streamer.

  2. In the top right corner of your TV screen, select Settings  and then System and then About and then Status and then Device MAC address.
