Cast icon doesn't appear in Chromecast-enabled apps

If the Cast icon doesn't appear in Chromecast-enabled apps when in guest mode, follow the steps below:

Note: Steps may vary depending on your Android device.

  1. Make sure that your guest is on an Android device running Android 5.0 or later.
  2. Verify your Wi-Fi settings: From your Android device, go to Settings Wi-Fi Menu Advanced Scanning always available or Nearby device scanning. Make sure that option is turned on.
  3. Confirm your data plan settings: From your Android device, go to Settings Data usage Menu Restrict background data or Data saver. Make sure that option is not selected.
  4. Turn on Location Services: From your Android device, go to Settings  Security and location Location  Use location.
